The warm & fuzzies post.

So the meeting w/the ex went well. No climactic revelations were brought to light; we just had lunch and I let him look through the AK pics. (all 200+ of them) Sheesh, but that's a shitload of pics.

In other news, I got a new coat. :D Yes, we are the vintage ringer these days. It's a red lined khaki coat, about knee length on me, I guess. The cool thing is that instead of having buttons, it has those twistable clasps. I had it (and a sister coat, which I'll post more info on after I work on cleaning off its spots), dry cleaned, which was a new experience for me considering I've never had anything dry cleaned. I mean, you can take one look at me and know I'm not the type that does that.

Yay coat pics!

Open - and it's actually a much brighter scarlet color in the lining.

Pocket Detail - to show off the closure

And yeah, the REALLY cool thing is that I paid a whole buck for it. :D We are the coolness. heheh! Cleaning it actually upped the value by about 7.50. ;) *grins*

Its sister coat is a trencher, one w/a zip out furry lining. The kind that's normally very expensive and very nice. Unfortunately, it's in bad shape on the sleeves - mildew. :( The lady @ the cleaners said that they had done a test run on it, but that it made a hole in the fabric. Damn...oh well, it was only a buck too. haha! She suggested that I spray down the spots and run it through the washing machine, then hang it up to dry, which is what I'll probably end up doing. Unfortunately, this also could mean the demise of the Inspector Gadget trench I've been toting (some would say toking) around in for the past few years. I love that thing, but yeah, it shows.

Speaking of coats to get rid of, I think I'm going to give the carhartt one to my dad. When it came in, I was showing it off & how warm it was, so I let everybody try it on, and it looked good on him and fit him very well. A little long in the arms but ;-) he'll grow into it. It's much too masculine for me anyway, and I won't need it half as much as he could actually use it. It beats donating it or selling it off too. (not that I'm anti donation - I am all for it - just that why get rid of a perfectly decent $100 coat when there's someone close by who can use it? :-) ) I may get his name embroidered on it, that'd be really nice :D
