Aka ~ Welcome to Friday.
Something's sticking in my head today, more than the pending weekend, more than the fact I got overtime on this check (86 hrs, oh yeah!), more than the fact the head honchos are going to be gone for this entire coming week, starting on Sunday. Beyond the fact that we still have a shitload of shit to check in, and I have a lot of new responsibilities to take care of and look through, and the fact that I learn new things every day, whether I like it or not, (like the paper clip trick to get the cd burner tray to release :P), or that it was the eldest boy's b-day and he got to have a sleepover tonight, meaning that he, his two younger brothers, and three or four of their friends were hanging out in the office of the shop from 4:30 fiveish, and I don't know when they left considering I left before six thirty.
No, what's ticking around the corners of my brain is something someone said in regards to someone else's actions. It was like I didn't even know them, but yet, there it was, ye olde familiar chagrin. ... How people can judge one another based not on that one person & their actions, but on their own personal upbringing and the prejudices that came with that upbringing & circumstances thereof. That whole narrow-world view that makes people think they have the right to look down their noses at other people. Do you really think you are so much better than me? Or anything or anyone that looks like me? B/c let me tell you something dearie, we outnumber you. Get a clue and get over yourself.
It's just way too caustic y'know? (Of course not, I'm being deliberately cryptic.) You just don't get it, do you? This is not the world your parents grew up in; it's not even the world we grew up in. Things change ~ it is the one constant.
[Funny sideline ~ We were checking in new greeting card sets, and there was one that had sayings from Deepak Chopra on it. And I was like, oh how cool! She didn't know who he was, and I mentioned that he had some connections w/Buddhism. heh, you would've thought I had shown her that he had a pentagram carved on his forehead or something - her eyes got huge. lol. Woohoo, eh?]
