i love three day weekends!
i'm on my third week at work and still kickin'... i think i'm finally getting the swing of things! in the last few weeks, i've found which bathroom has the least foot traffic, the best dish at the cafeteria, shortest distance from home to work, who in my department doesn't talk my ear off at lunch time, found that there isn't anyone to impress at work (romantically speaking) and that i can come and go whenever i please (pretty much). safe to say, i think i'll be ok here at my new job.
i had a great memorial day weekend... friday, i celebrated a 30th birthday for a very good friend of mine who is freakishly obsessed with "america's most wanted" and shyguy74 took some pretty great photos that evening. den, remind me never to wear that super bright blue eye shadow ever. i straight up look like mimi from the drew carey show. saturday, 4 of us went wine tasting in livermore valley which isn't quite napa but then you can't complain about free wine tasting!! which included about two dozen wine varieties at every winery that we went to! saw "super size me" that evening... i loved it! remind me never to eat chicken mcnuggets AGAIN. and i suggest that you don't, either! sunday was pretty much a lounge day. got my hair highlighted...some of which turned out a lot more blonder than i had wanted. most of yesterday was spent moving into my new apartment! which is SO darn cute.
i was defrosting the refrigerator at my new place yesterday afternoon... i left and came back a few hours later to find a pool of nasty fridge water on the floor. eeew. why didn't the lady who lived there before do the honors and defrost the refrigerator? it took some time to clean this up. i also have a beautiful white clawfoot tub in the bathroom that i bought some shower curtains for and found out that it wasn't wide enough to cover it all around! grrr. i live in a older victorian house that was converted into apartments... which sits on a somewhat busy corner. i found out last night that it gets pretty loud in my wee little bedroom. i have windows all around my bedroom (3 out of 4 walls are glass, pretty much) so it's pretty noisy! BUT, this morning, i did notice it was beautifully lit with the sunlight... so cheery and bright. i do have these awfully cute white cotton duck curtains that i love. (i don't have ducks on my curtains, it's the style!) i'm sure i'll get sick of the light when i'm trying to sleep in. ;)
over all... i love my new place.
i have some updates regarding mr. lukewarm pants but i haven't had a chance to really write about that. i'll get to that sometime later on today. boss it out so you know what that means. :)
