So the person who I vaguely remember marrying a few years ago and who I'm led to believe I still share a house with, emailed me at work yesterday to update me about when he's going to be away over the next few months. It would appear that he's going to be out of the country for 34 days between the last week of this month and the first week of July

Unfortunately I won't be able to, as even if I could afford to go, it's happening at the financial year end. Sadly because I work in purchasing & finance this means no time off at that time of year.

Plus this year we have the added 'bonus' that they're relaunching our electronic requisitioning system right after year end and as one of the only people in the company who really understands it, I'm going to be tied up with training and support commitments. I think this is all contributing to the annoyance I'm feeling at the moment. On the plus side though, the time is likely to fly by, as I'm not exactly sure at this point in time how I'm going to fit everything in!

Ach, phooey. Sorry to hear that. That seems to be how it goes though, you work and work, get good at your job and next you know you find yourself shackled to your desk.

But you are absolutely right about time like that flying by. The one redeeming feature of busy-ness like that, I think.
