27. Until the Last Breath, 28. Shattered Dreams, Dead Soul

This is a more difficult entry to write as Dead Soul aren't a very widely known band and therefore there is actually very little on Youtube for them. I first saw them supporting Ghost in December and was so instantly blown away by them I immediately bought both their albums. Of the two, I prefer the second one, but that's not to say the first one isn't excellent. They were described as as Nick Cave meets Nine Inch Nails meets Johnny Cash, so I was expecting I'd probably like them. Even if the other description was Industrial Doom Blues and I'm not really a blues fan. Industrial Doom definitely improves the blues though :-)

Since the second album is so recent, the stuff on Youtube is mainly of their first album with a couple of bits from their second one. Sadly I've not been able to find Until the Last Breath which is definitely my favourite song of theirs, and the only footage I've found of Shattered Dreams is fan footage, so not necessarily the best. It gives you the idea though.

There's an acoustic version:

Shattered Dreams - Acoustic

And a live in concert version which gives an idea of the atmosphere. Or at least it does to me, they were an incredibly powerful presence on stage despite not moving very much.

Shattered Dreams - live in concert

I just love their lyrics. I mean, how can you not love "I took the midnight train, through my brain, to see if there's something to be saved", certainly been there.

If I find a video to Until the last breath I'll post it, but until then for a better idea of them if you want to see more I suggest their live in the Studio set:

100 songs, good things, 100 things
