So, a lot has happened lately.

Last weekend my friend Sam comes up to me and says "hey, we're going to Lake Powell this weekend, you wanna come?" So....yeah, definitely didn't study anything the weekend before finals.

It was probably the best decision I've made in a long time...I needed a break from school/work and needed to get out of Provo for a little bit. I don't know if any of ya'll have been down to southern utah but it is GORGEOUS....we spent the weekend wakeboarding, hiking up slot canyons, bonfiring, tubing, laying in the sun, playing cards, eating good food, meeting cute girls...it was pretty much perfect. The water wasn't too cold, and the sun wasn't too hot...and i now have a pretty good tan to start out the summer, some fun stories to tell, and some new hot friends as well. Woohoo!

I just really love my life right now. I'm happy. Finals start tomorrow, and yeah I have to study for them but they won't be too hard, I really understand the material and that makes me feel good. My knee has been hurting for awhile, I hyperextended it a week ago in the intramural basketball playoffs (we bowed out in the third round, unfortunately). in fact, i should talk about that.

So we made it to the third round of the playoffs. Sweet 16. Big night of the game is coming up, I go to Chris and make sure he's coming to the game. "umm...logan....i can't go." WHAT? YOU CAN't GO?? I start expecting him to say like he's getting married or he has this huge test or he's going to england and then he gives me the reason why he can't go to the game. "I'm in a polka competition for my dance class. I'm dressing up as a scarecrow and dancing a traditional german dance around a room in a circle."

I'll let you be the judge of the true sexual orientation of Chris English. (or maybe just his misplaced priorites. Oh and he did make the semifinals.)

So I show up at the game...get a good warmup in, and notice that my knee isn't hurting too much from my injury in our win the week before. Good! The game starts and we only have 4 players. Normally you play ball with 5. So yeah we're down 9 - 2 before 2 other guys show up and we have 5. We scrap our way back and with the support of our amazing fans (i decided to invite people to this game...turns out its really fun having people there cheer you on) we tied it up by halftime.

I sat out to start the half, we try to even up the playing time on our team. Bad move. All of a sudden we're down by 7. So I come back in, we start slowly decreasing the gap, and then in a scrap under the basket i get elbowed in the eye and my contact comes out. Yeah! It actually does that, i felt like a girl for a second "ahh! i lost my contact!" but i found out and went to the bench to put it back in. of course i get it back in and look up at the scoreboard and see we're all of a sudden down by 9. sad story. that's how the game ended.

I realize I'm not the best basketball player in the world (i have no real talent, just a lot of desire) and its not like i score a bunch of points (though i did score 13 in that loss...i had a pretty good game) but I love it. I love it!!

Looks like i'm staying here and working full-time at the mtc this summer....all the internships that i applied for didn't want to hire me :( That's okay, I still have another summer to get in a real good internship...I'm excited to stay here all summer. It's going to be so much FUN! I've never had a full summer without going to school. It's going to be sweet!!! I will be going home to detroit for a week, week and a half (probably the 4th of july week?) my family's doing a roadtrip to philly and boston so i'm going to have to hit that up, but there's just certain things you have to do every summer. Tigers game. Cedar Point. Shoe tree. Frolf at cass. You know, the essentials.
