So I pretty much had the sweetest weekend ever. I love Conference weekend, its a big party.
Friday night I skipped the Guster concert (which would've been way fun, but...) to head up to Salt Lake for the mission reunion. I love the people I served with. I saw people I hadn't seen like in, well some people in like three years. My favorite person I saw would have to be Gugliermo Cacciatore, an Italian member from Florence. He's probably my favorite italian ever, and so I got to hear how his family and people that I worked with there are doing. The best news: Giuseppe, a guy that I helped baptize, got married! In the temple!! They're starting an eternal family now. Happy day.
Oh just so everyone knows, the church has a semi-annual general conference made up of several two hour sessions saturday and sunday where everyone gets together and the leaders of the church, the Prophet, his counselors, the twelve apostles, and some other church leaders all speak. I watched monday morning's session at home (its on tv, you can get it on the internet, satellite...we'd watch it in italy) and then me and chris english went up to salt lake to watch it in the conference center, which is the biggest religious building in the nation. you can fit a really big airplane in it...its huge, yet really intimate. its cool. anywho so we went to the afternoon session, which was awesome, and then spent the next two hours looking for Nathaniel Haight, (remember him?) who is a missionary right now in salt lake, spanish speaking. couldnt find him. way sad. so we got tickets to the priesthood session that night, which again was great, the Spirit was really strong, and THEN after that we finally found good ol nate dawg. Chris hadn't seen him in like three years, so that was good. It was just a really fun day.
Sunday was conference again, only I watched both sessions down here in Provo, sandiwched around an amazing Pistons victory. MAN i love the pistons. Anyway it was a lot of fun, and we ended up getting free good home-cooked delicious dinner, which was just wonderful.
This week's going to be crazy busy -- I have an interview up in Salt Lake with the magical internship that I have to get this summer on Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. Wish me luck!!
