Ok, so first of all, happy birthday to mom! Second of all, jerk is not a word that needs to be bleeped lol. And don't feel bad about calling me one because I feel like a jerk for where I left things. As I said in the note, I held back posting this for a while on purpose so that the break between this chapter and the next wouldn't be as long haha.

But in all seriousness, this was perfect, heartbreaking and beautiful. I'm so grateful you're sharing this story. Everyone was extremely in-character and I love how you portrayed the Annie and Britta friendship. Jeff is heartbreaking as always and I want to give him (and Annie) a hug and tell them everything's going to be ok. (Though I'll have to say that Jeff better has flowers with him when he comes back. Lots of flowers.) I'm convinced that you'll handle this perfectly and that I'll love the outcome (just like I love this chapter). (But you're still kind of a j*rk.)Thank you for all the compliments! You're welcome for sharing, and thank you for reading and commenting! As for me handling ( ... )

Yeah, that was kind of mean of me :D That's actually Styrian (from Styria in Austria

Ah, that would make sense. Google translate wouldn't know local slang. I've never been to Austria, but I was pretty close in 2013 when I did my car pickup. Swung by Berchtesgaden to see Lake Königssee, the Eagle's Nest and tour the salt mines.

Also, I'm glad you found Arscheige/Assviolin funny, it's one of my favourite insults :D

Google Translate produced "ass fiddle" which is somehow even more hilarious.

Yeah, Lake Königssee and the surrounding mountains are gorgeous, as are the views from the Eagle's Nest. The history surrounding the Eagle's Nest is slightly less beautiful, of course :-/

Although... it does tickle me to wonder what Hitler would think of his bunker retreat being turned into a restaurant lol.

I was there in September and it was a little chilly at the high altitudes. I'd like to go back during the summer months sometime. I highly recommend the salt mines too. The tour is great, you ride these wooden slides down to the lower levels, it's so much fun! And there's an underground lake that you cross on a boat, it's pretty amazing!

Here's a picture I took from the Eagle's Nest:

I don't know what the deal is with LJ and marking some as spam. I've seen people post links to YouTube, so it's not always that. Let me try: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGIwI5TreNY

I believe that was the clip you were going for.

While we're at it, see if this link works: Berchtesgaden pics

That's more of my pictures from Berchtesgaden :) It might be privacy screened though...

Also, I can't wait to find out where Jeff is. I just hope it's far away from a trash can and that he's in good health, at least physically.

The next chapter will deal with what Jeff is doing. I've finished the next two scenes, actually.

Annie's scene was so heartbreaking, too! You just want your readers' hearts to be in a hundred pieces, don't you?

My own too, apparently. As I mentioned to Bethany, I get into the mood of the scenes I'm writing, so believe me, these haven't been the most fun to write.

(like: "I just killed all your friends and family" "*sigh* Ok, I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed" I know this is exaggerated, but anyways)

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've read some fics, and even some professional writers and TV shows, etc., where the resolution to conflict seems way too pat sometimes. Annie's primary concern is for Jeff's wellbeing, but it's only natural for her to be upset and angry with him. And he DOES need to make it up to her.

Again, I love the Annie and Britta friendship, something we unfortunately never ( ... )

Oh, I am completely the same when writing. I'm actually currently writing a post s6 fic (badly, though), and just writing what Jeff is thinking was heartbreaking to me.

Are you going to publish it here when you're done? Or on FF.net or AO3?

Hey! I read like one entire scene of them going to the opera! I'm not a quitter.

But there was even better stuff after that! :-P

Well, one's ending is pretty close to the one of Hamlet... (Greendale basically becomes a graveyard)

Uh, well I did tell you that no one that was actually in the show would die, so the Hamlet ending is out. Though there was an evil little voice in my head when I was writing the scene between Annie and Britta. It said "wouldn't it be a complete shock if I just turned this into an Annie/Britta romance." Now before you get mad at me, you should know that my mind likes being contrarian, even though I myself am basically anything but. And I never in any remote way actually considered doing this lol.

You know, back when it was happier? :p

*sigh* those were the days...

What is it that you're nervous about? Don't get me wrong, I was really nervous when I started posting this story, so I know what you mean. I just thought maybe I could assuage some of your fears. I've found people to be very supportive, even of fics that aren't particularly well written because none of us are professionals and we're all just trying our best. I also don't mean to suggest that yours wouldn't be well written, I'm just guessing that's what you're worried about haha. The main thing people tend to be critical of is if you have someone do something out of character. I think you have a good grasp of them though. But if you're nervous, having a beta can really help.

-*Shirley voice* Stuff the Lord would not approve of.

Nonsense, the Lord said "Go forth and multiply." :-P

Is someone else who's not really on the show going to die???My exact quote: "I don't think anyone else will die in the rest of my fic. I had no plans initially to kill a made up character either, but it just sort of happened (albeit 32 years ago). Anyone ( ... )
