Exhaustumated on a Friday
When Friday evenings come around I always get a nice big wave of relief. The week is over, now for a tiny bit of relaxation in a fast-paced world that we all so desperately need. Today has been fine, like I told Josh, nothing good and nothing bad has happened to me. I just feel HERE. I don't know if anyone else has ever had that feeling where you really don't feel anything. Just here.
And so I find time to update. Yesterday we went to see Cars, which is the new Disney/Pixar creation. I thought it was entertaining, and possibly the best new movie that I've seen this year. It was kind of refreshing to not have anything blow up, actually. I mean, there were cars racing around the track, but it was all good fun. At least I don't remember anything blowing up...anyway, we took the Onisick kids with us, and the Eggers were going to meet us there. The Eggers were running late so I took the kids in while Mom waited for them. Each of the kids had his own ticket, and they each handed it to the ticket man (whatever they are called). Then after all of them had filed through, the guy says to me, "Next time, hand all the tickets to me at once." Of course, being me, I just smiled and said, "Okay!" Just like that. But really I was rather offended. You know kids at the movies; they are all excited since they normally don't go to see a movie in the theater very often and they want to hold their tickets! But this man obviously didn't know kids. I guess in his defence there were 5 kids, but still.
I'm on a Star Wars kick again. See, I'm even wearing my Anakin shirt!Jarod and Aric were watching Phantom Menace so I sat down to watch it as well. Even though that movie is my least favorite out of the six, I hadn't seen it in a while. I didn't think Jake Lloyd was as bad as I remembered, but Jar Jar got on my nerves. WHY JAR JAR?!?! WHY, GEORGE?!?!?
