CHARACTERS: Yako ( culpritisyou ), ? SUMMARY: Yako is more'n a little dazed and coming off her drugs. PLACE: Outside Yako's apartment. TIME: After flood ('COURSE) and around morning. WARNINGS: None yet :|
Leo noticed the new arrival as he came on duty for the welcoming committee. She was dressed in the black shirt and slacks and reading the newsletter.
"Greetings." He contacted her, walking up slowly. He didn't know how she might feel, and the drugs seemed to do more to people with small frames such as she had. "I'm a member of the informal welcoming committee to the city. I'm sure you have a lot of questions, can I help you?"
Yako stared at the neatly typed-up piece of crap and was not dumb enough to believe the lies written all over its front. She would have kept reading anyway had Leo not caught her attention, head flying up and eyes going wide.
When he introduced himself--kind of--she nodded slowly. "Yeah... why was I given this bogus newsletter? It's too obvious I won't believe it."
Leo put a hand behind his head, a little out of place. No one had said that it was false... And what else did he have?
"Well, it's true that we've all been brought here. Most of us seem to be from different worlds... It has some of the orientation information, although it is a little short on technology information for people who didn't have things like computers in their own worlds, but they expect you to talk to people for that, apparently."
He looked terribly confused, but not as much as Yako was. She shook her head in concern at how Leo seemed to be taking it all so seriously and at face-value. Different worlds... she could believe that. Neuro, after all, was not of Earth.
But she refused to believe she'd come here willingly.
"Is there... a way to directly contact the people who took us here through the computers?" First things first.
