Nikhat again - Just a quick update

Megan is finally out of the ICU, but still in the hospital for a bit longer.  Not too long, hopefully, as she is doing much better and is understandably anxious to get home.  And no worries about her having been in intensive care, that makes things sound much worse than they were.  The truth is that it's standard for someone in DKA who's been put on an insulin drip to be in the ICU, as that sort of thing has to be very closely monitored.

Marukh's been home for quite a while, and is already getting bigger every day.  She and Megan haven't had much time together, but they've already bonded.  I don't think either of us could be more in love with her.

Megan also had a chance to read all of your very sweet messages, and they meant a lot to her (and all of us).  Actually, she cried, and on a personal note my mother did as well, and she isn't a woman easily moved to tears.  Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers.

I have no idea how to go about posting pictures on Live Journal, but I'm sure Megan will be doing so when she gets home.  Until then, here's the announcement of the birth that ran in the papers here; I'm afraid there's not much new info though, unless you were really interested in our parents names or such.

Marukh Marja Khan
A daughter born to Nikhat Khan and Megan Crivello-Khan of Madison on April 17, 2009.
She weighed 6lbs and 1oz and measured 18 inches at birth.
Grandparents are Rahim and Shreya (née Malhotra) Khan of Wauwatosa, and Benjamin and Marja Crivello (née Khachatourian) of Hartford.
Marukh's baptism into the Catholic faith of her mother will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday May 9th at the Basilica of Holy Hill, Shrine of Mary, Help of Christians in the Erin Township.  All family members and friends are welcome and encouraged to be present for this blessed event.
This is the first child for both parents.

Again, thank you on behalf of our family.  Megan sends her love, and looks forward to sharing Marukh with all of you.
