BANDOM

To Dream Again by harborshore
Laena/Brendon. Short one-shot. A gorgeous little bit of story about magic and music and Brendon, the only boy in his village who doesn't have wings. (PG-13)

That time Z and Ryan were dorks in love by verbosewrdsmith
Z/Ryan. Ficlet. Z and Ryan and ... I have no idea, they're just hanging. This thing is basically pointless and adorable. (G)

The Ballad of LynZ and Gerard the Boyslut by stele3
Lyn-Z/Gerard. Ficlet. Gerard kind of hooked up with Lindsey, and now he can't ever be in a room with her again. A wicked-ridiculous grin of a thing, with a darling Gerard POV. (PG-13)

MIRRORMASK

Fevers and Mirrors by tend
Helena/Valentine. Novelette. The principal way this Valentine in the real world is different is in the way he adores Helena; the way she has to fight him on him following her to university, even though she's sure it's the right decision to go alone. This is a little literary-subtle, and I'm not sure what was going on with the symbolism and the plot there at the end, but it's really good. I love the tone, and I love Helena, and I love Valentine so much here, there's general excellence. (PG-13)

The Circus Joins You by giddygeek
Helena/Valentine. Short one-shot. Valentine and his tower. This is a beautiful evocation of the world and of Valentine's relationship with the tower and hers with him. This is my favourite Valentine, I think. (G)

Some Folks Say There Ain't No Bears in Arkansas by bliumchik
Helena/Valentine. Drabble/short ficlet. The bear is missing. There is absolutely no resolution or point to this, but it's such an excellent tiny snippet of future Helena and Valentine I had to rec it anyway. (G)

WHO-VERSE

A Moment's Grace by cesario
Martha & Two gen. One-shot. When she returns to England at the end of that weary impossible year, Martha Jones meets a Doctor who brings her tea. This is beautiful, in a happy-sad way. I don’t know Two at all, so I can’t judge this characterisation for him, but Martha rings true and there’s some painfully good Ten meta in the edges. The ending hits you good too. (Warning for past character death.) (PG-13)

A Change Is as Good as a Rest by by netgirl-y2k
Donna/Rose. One-shot. Rose could tell the two Doctors didn’t want to leave Donna here, but Donna was too busy growing a TARDIS out of bits of Rose’s kitchen to quite answer Rose’s questions. The particular way the amnesia works here isn’t satisfactorily explained, but this is such an excellent concept, really charmingly executed. I also particularly love Donna’s characterisation, she's great. (PG)

Our Backwards Walk by netgirl-y2k
River/Liz X. Short ficlet. The first time River Song meets Queen Elizabeth the Tenth is not the first time Liz X meets River. Funny and darling series of (very River) encounters. (PG)

Five Times the Sonic Screwdriver Proved Worse than Useless by netgirl-y2k
New Who gen. Short ficlet. Exactly what it says on the tin, with great voices from all the rotating cast of characters. And a last line that made me giggle. (G)
