Has it been long enough that I'm allowed to post Ashlee/Pete recs again? /o\
An Uncommon Proposal by
pearl_oAshlee/Pete. Ficlet. Regency AU. Ashlee made a mistake, and she knows how this goes now; her sister sat up with her going over it. Oh, this is wonderful. I love the opening, and I love Ashlee's voice, and this Pete. I would read so much about them in this world. (PG)
A Spoonful Of Sugar by
fictionalfaerieAshlee/Pete. Ficlet. High school AU. Pete heads over because he's a bit behind on his Ashlee wooing schedule, but Ashlee's pale and shivering and clearly not in the mood. Tiny part of a larger (still to be written?) universe. Darling and boppy bit of cheery hurt/comfort high school fic. I approve. (G)
The Stupid High School AU Where Hardly Anyone's Gay by
impertinenceLyn-Z/Gerard. One-shot. Lyn-Z doesn't know what the pidgin-ish kid in her art class's game is, but she's not impressed. This seems to be based on Lyn-Z's own descriptions of her anti-social, angry, overweight art chick high school persona, rather than on Lyn-Z as she is now. It's adorable and dysfunctional and hilarious, oh my god. (NC-17)
Untitled Femdom Ficlet by
stephanometragirl!Spencer/Jon. Short one-shot. It's been three days, and she can see the tension in Jon's shoulders. A sweet and incredibly hot bit of femdom D/s. (NC-17)
Make You Feel by
harborshoreZ/girl!Spencer. Ficlet. High school AU. Z isn’t used to thinking about a particular girl, and it's making her feel ridiculous. Adorable bitty high school AU. I can’t really get my head around Z/Spencer as a dynamic, even with genderswap, but this is too darling to need ship bias.(PG)
DISNEY RPF
These are all by the same author. I've read a tiny bit more widely in this fandom, but so far
summerstorm is the best thing in it.
Scribble Down Something That's Sweet by
summerstormDemi/Taylor. Novelette. High school AU. Taylor was little more than an incredibly irritating but sadly unavoidable part of Demi's friendship with Joe, until Joe broke up with her, and ... now Demi's not sure what's changed. Just a really fun, sweet high school story, with multiple POVs and a lot of making fun of Joe. A little lacking in ... character motivation or resolution or something, but charming. I like this Demi. (PG)
The Shattered Sapphire in the Fireplace by
summerstormSelena/David. Novelette. A Bones AU. FBI agent David Henrie's been pining for his forensic anthropologist partner for kind of a lot of years, but she's only recently realised that they're friends, and he's not pushing his luck. The casefic plot is unmemorable, but this is funny and darling, and some of the casting is hilariously awesome. Which I say as somebody who only knows a smattering of fanon about any of these people, and doesn't know David Henrie from a bar of soap. Seriously, though, this is great. (PG)
The Week We Almost Lived Dangerously by
summerstormDemi/Selena. One-shot. High school AU. Demi’s beginning to think that if she doesn’t tell Selena soon, the chance of people other than Demi getting hurt by it will get too high. This is so darling. Demi's POV is great, and her feelings ring true. The friendship/banter scenes between Demi-and-Selena and Demi-and-Joe are also appealing. (PG)
DUE SOUTH
It turns out that my obsessive love for AUs applies only to RPF fandoms. Due South AUs - the kind of AU that transplants the characters into an entirely different setting, I mean - freak me out as much as Harry Potter ones did. Here are some canon or possible-canon fics instead ♥
Four Totally Alternate Endings That Very Seriously Did Not Happen by
joandarckMultiple pairings. One-shot. Four possible endings. One of them gets a little over-silly, but this whole thing is like a shot of joy. I don't even know which pairing is my favourite, but Francesca is a highlight. (PG)
Excuses by Crysothemis
Gen-ish Thatcher/Fraser. Short one-shot. Meg is finding her personnel report distressingly difficult to write. Honestly, I saved this one mostly for the wolf joke. It's a fun little thing with a charming Meg voice, though. (G)
International Woman of Mystery by
thehoydenThatcher/Francesca. Short ficlet. Frannie finds herself tugged into an alley in a strange city. This ficlet has giggly fun with the Meg Thatcher part of the epilogue (while cheerfully ignoring the Francesca part). There’s no context or justification for the pairing dynamic, but, mm, I enjoy both of them here a lot. (PG-13)
ORIGINAL
If anybody has any recs for other fun original femmeslash, give me a shout! I find the lack of summaries at s2b2 vaguely disquieting, and I'm not sure where else to look.
Sunday @ction by Nope
Original femmeslash. Novelette. A futuristic crime-fighting romp about a girl called Sunday who meets a girl called Baby. Less a love story than an action-mystery-comedy that happens to include two hot girls who find each other hot, but it's witty and it's got style. (PG-13)
