So, I guess the blood made River crazy again. Crazy River speak .... I liked when they were in the field.
Simon is a saint. Cause if my bother of sister cut me with a sharp thing I don't care hoe crazy they are, they're not getting hugs from me anytime soon.

Mal and Jayne stand off ... TENSE! Good job. I guess there's only so many time you can threaten to space some one before they finally call ya on it.

Thank you darlin'. River is an interesting girl to watch progress. Surprises happen when she talks. I like that >:0)

The Mal and Jayne standoff, yeah, tense... and that is a good thing!

Simon is the ultimate white knight, no doubt of that. I don't know how he does it, but I am impressed by his fortitude.

*Hugs*

They do indeed. Not sure where they will take this as River stopped them in her own unique way.

I'm here, I'm here, *dusts off clothes and takes a seat*

I loved this one, but then, I have yet to read a fic by you that didn't affect me. River was great, but I think Jayne stole the show in this one, a firestorm to her spark, you could say, *grin* You could really feel his state in this one, coiled power in a place where it's never been before, you know? And, without a doubt, my favorite part was the Mal/Jayne scene, and how close they came to blows. Mal would put up a fight, and probably get in a few good blows, but you did a great job showing just how fine the thread that Jayne's walking is, and how horribly he's coming unravelled. It's difficult to show just how tense a situation can get, but you did a beautiful job there, especially in Mal's thought processes and realization that, hey, this might truly be serious this time. And then that ending, bittersweet in the bitterest way possible, and harsh even with the underlying loveliness of him braiding her hair the way he was. I'm loving what this is bringing out in him, that ( ... )

Thank you for that really wonderful analysis of what is happening, especially Jayne's unravelling. It really is touch and go on how he is managing to hold onto even the smallest bit of himself.

...coiled power... Yes! That's it. After Jayne Dancing, he has the knowledge that taking someone down is so very easy and terribly simple to allow himself the freedom to do. And Mal is a bright enough man to know that he used a wrench to drop Jayne before and it isn't likely that he will succeed without one again. I like the buildup between the two of them and am hopeful that it resolves without too much damage.

Jayne braiding her hair was such a small gesture and it felt so reminiscent of something any one of us may do that brought back memories of a long lost childhood.

Thank you Thank You thank you... (Your words encourage the Muse to go forward)

The boy is still there. The man hasn't become burned away. Bears and lions and monsters have not won all the battles" This description of Jayne is great - it shows what he wants to be, but still remains that can't be sent away...

Another good chapter. The confrontation between Mal & Jayne is very powerful and I felt sorry for River not being able to explain what she means.

Poor Jayne and River - I hope they find they're way out of there...

Oh, they will find a way out of this, it is more a question of who gets burned in the process.

Mal and Jayne are two such stubborn alpha males both of whom carry such anger and willingness to throw themselves into it that River is notably interested in preventing it. And yes, her desire to explain is overwhelmed by her inability to find the right words...

Thank you for the kind support... the challenges to continue are lessened by words of support as you well know...
