Fandom rant.
If there's one thing I can't stand, it's whiny cowards who shy away at the slightest bit of criticism. Yesterday I was skimming through a list of Hana Yori Dango fics on the pit of voles when I stumbled accross this one-shot on the front page. As always, I check whatever review is there first and then read it. I was already slightly miffed by the summary (wondering how the hell that'd ever work out) but read it for the sake of curiousity.
Canon-rape.
I don't know how anyone could've missed this message-- hasn't it been proven again and again throughout the series that Domyouji Tsukasa, will never, ever, EVER like (let alone marry) anyone other than Makino Tsukushi. Not while facing death, potential-disowning, rivals, many "I hate you"s, countless girls trying to seduce him, more conflicts them you can shake a stick at, and even memory loss. There's a higher chance of World peace than Tsukasa getting over Tsukushi.
I'd reviewed with a not-so-detailed and much-more-sugar-coated version of this rant on the fic. Today I checked the frontpage again, and lo and behold--
The author deleted the fic and the one other praise-filled review that came along with it, just to get rid of my "scathing" one.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
