Cooking and other news.
Not really been upto much today, other than work.....i did have a go at cooking something today though.....this is amazing for me as im not a fan of cooking at all.
Ive been getting a vegetable box delivered once a week and you never know whats gonna be in it....i kinda like the surprise but sometimes it can be tricky trying to figure out what to make. I decided to get the veggie box delivered to encourage me to eat more healthy. Well this week i got an aubergine (or egg plant depending on where you come from), among other things.....i made aubergine curry the other week so i wasnt sure what to make. Luckily my boss is a a vegetarian so there were plenty of books for me to get some ideas from....i decided to try for Aubergine steaks with a chilli and ginger topping.....they were really easy to make and tasted really good too. This is what they looked like.
I did learn a valuable lesson tho when cooking with chillis....dont rub your eyes! I washed my hands after chopping the chilli up but the juices must have got under my fingernails or something. I rubbed my eye and my word did it hurt for about 10 min!
Ive probably undone all my good eating work though as ive just eated half a tub of Rocky Road icecream (my favourite).
Im having a go at something else at the weekend that involves beetroot, carrot and potatoes but i cant remember what it is called.
Other news was i got published in the text in column in the 'London Lite' Its a freebie paper that you get in London, i sometimes get hold of a copy on the train home, (its train law to leave your paper so that someone else can read it). It has a text in column that you can chat about anything from, 'Whats your fave food', some bloke the other day wanted his text printed so that he would win a bet and his flat mate would have to shave his beard, flip side of that story was that his flatmate also texted in to win the bet so the both ended up having to shave things....childish but funny. Now in Tuesdays one some bloke called Richard wanted to know why women dont have hobbies....i thought id reply to that with 'I have 2 hobbies, wow and bjds.....can you figure out what they are?' I thought it was funny and unusual, and sure enough they published it intodays London Lite.....now to see what replies it gets in the following days papers.
