Sigh.
In this day and age, why can't they invent an antibiotic that does not destroy the healthy biotics of the body?
When Probiotics are readily available, why are they not used in our Hospitals?
My Sister Terry called today.
Mom is in isolation due to a Super Bug that she has contracted.
Super Bugs are more likely to infect those in hospital than those not in hospital.
The Antibiotics that Mom was on for the Bladder infection last month left her particularly prone to catching the Super Bug.
Hospital was aware of the Infection on May 6th, but Mom wasn't in isolation on May 9th when Terry visited her on Mother's day.
Terry and her Daughter are both sick.
We are really hoping that they just have colds and flu and that Terry didn't bring the Bug home and infect her Family with it.
Mom is on Medication for the Super Bug.
Now that she is in Isolation Visitors have to wear gowns and gloves to visit Mom.
Everything that Mom touches has to be thrown out or disinfected to prevent spreading the Bug to others.
Next trip to Edmonton is currently scheduled for July.
Anything could happen between now and then.
Signing off,
Heather Anne
