Question One!
I had to fill out an equal opportunities form at work and instead of the usual option to tick male or female, I could choose between male, female, transgender, or other.
... Other? What the hell is other? I mean... doesn't male, female, transgender cover it? Is there another gender type that I could be identifying with?
This question occupied my brain for most of yesterday, which was good as I was stewarding at the museum's exhibition and was very bored. I got me thinking about what gender is and was trying to remember what I learned in Gender and Archaeology. As I understand it, your sex is biological, i.e. what bits you have, but gender is something different... Is it socially constructed? Or is it something innate within us? It was interesting times in my brain yesterday, let me tell you!
So, Question One is what is 'other' in gender? Has anyone else had a similar equal opportunties form? Since this was Brighton & Hove council's official form, I am especially interested in answer from people who work with councils/local government/ other such officialness.
Question Two!
Would it be unutterable mean for me to make chocolate cupcakes out of the Pink Pepper Chocolate
risilisi sent me and then give them to people and not tell them what kind of chocolate it is just to see the looks on their faces?
For those who are interested in what Pink Pepper Chocolate tastes like, imagine the taste of really good quality dark chocolate. Now imagine the taste of pepper. Now imagine
the sensation of eating Space Dust. Combine! :D
Question Three!
My aloe vera plant has sprouted a baby! :D What should I call it? Its Mummy/Daddy's name is Zelenka. :)
Question Four!
Um... actually, that's it. Ask me a question?
