My mum gave me a helium balloon yesterday...
ME: Oh, uh, thanks. Where'd you get it?
MUM: Parish picnic.
ME: Why did you have helium balloons at the parish picnic?
MUM: Well, there were limosines.
ME: ...
MUM: *leaves room*
I still don't know why there were limosines and helium balloons at the parish picnic - everyone seems reluctant to explain.
I think that I have almost everything I need for Peru. I've had all my vaccinations and got my maleria tablets now. I had my cholera vaccination done last Tuesday and over the weekend (where the hell did this week go?) I was pretty ill, so I've been amusing myself by making people food or giving them glasses of water, waiting till they've nearly finished them and then saying "Yeah, it's lucky I'm still here - I had cholera over the weekend". ;)
Tomorrow I'm going to do a trial pack, to see what I have and how much room it takes up in the bag, plus I need to do some further research about the trek to Machu Picchu and our stay in the Amazon (I won't talk any more about those until I know for sure what we're doing, because honestly, when I start to think about them I just vibrate with excitement) and then cry over the state of my bank balance because my rent for the house in Canterbury starts soon... *sighs* There may be a chance I can get my old job at the cinema back, so as soon as I arrive back I'm going to call and see if I can get somewhere with it because I am going to have no money next year if I don't get a job....
