You know when an appropriate time for me to ask if I should make a pregnancy filter was? Oh, about seven months ago. So I think I'm just going to power through on this regular posting of it and then hopefully anyone that doesn't care can just skip it ( Read more... )

I couldn't STAND "Let's Kill Hitler." I couldn't stand the Mel incarnation of River even before I knew it was River. What drives me nuts are all the little stupid timeline things, like "spoilers" and "I'm looking for a good man," and I usually love the timeline things like that, but I hate them here, because I wish they weren't DOING THIS with the Doctor! I continue to feel affronted and hostile.

oh god, i had so many problems with the latest episode of doctor who... like, i really hated the whole genesis of river storyline, if only because i hate the idea that all pregnancies in science fiction have to be shocking! and dangerous! and full of terror! & i guess it's my own fault for spoiling myself that the baby was going to be river (although it was your journal post that made me think amy was pregnant after the first episode of the new season, since you seemed to be speaking from authority about such matters), but i agree with you that the knowing winking of the narrative is really frustrating ( ... )

JAMIE, FOR ONCE WE AGREE ABOUT DOCTOR WHO. I AM SO SICK OF THIS SHIT AND I KIND OF HATE THIS ENTIRE SEASON. I mean. I actually like(d) River Song, but this is getting ridiculous. So is the Amy/Rory shit too, honestly. I just want the Doctor to travel through time and space and be clever and have adventures. I don't want my adventures doused in RELATIONSHIP. This is not a show that is made for RELATIONSHIPS. Just go fight some monsters! No more babies or kissing or mysteries or anything! Ugh, I'm starting to have the same feelings as I did towards the Doctor/Rose arc (AND YES I KNOW YOU LOVE THAT SHIT BUT I'M SORRY). Just stop with it already. I kind of miss the days when the Doctor was played by an old man, because then at least he wasn't expected to bone every semi-attractive girl he came across.

BAD BLOOD IS STILL ONE OF THE GREATEST HOURS OF TELEVISION EVERY FILMED.

I know other eps of X-Files are technically better (Home, even though it creeps the bejesus out of me!) but I love love love Bad Blood.

OH MAN DOCTOR WHO IS PISSING ME OFF.

I watched it last night and wanted to, like, kick the freaking tv in. I know Moffat hated Rose and I'm okay with that (Russell got a bit...much for me at times) and I was TOTALLY okay when he was all, 'Doctor Who isn't about romance; it's about your imaginary friend taking you on adventures through time and space!' which was great. Fantastic. And I LOVED when the Doctor and Amy were doing that!

Then...then River Song. Oh my god, I GET IT STEVEN. SHE IS AMAZING. CHECK. Let's move on with our lives.

I feel like he's fallen too in love with his own character, if that makes sense. River Song was perfectly palpable when she was dropped in here and there and I enjoyed the way Matt played off her a lot better than David. But this whole...I don't even know how to describe it...greatest love of all crap? IS PISSING ME OFF.

GOD.
