I can't remember if I already posted anything about this here yet, but I decided over this past year that I don't think I'm cut out to be a French teacher. Partly this is just me still not feeling confident with the language, and partly it is because I thought I would be able to do my student teaching this Spring, but it turns out I would have to do it in the Fall and I REALLY don't want to wait any longer to graduate. So, my new plan is to graduate this May with my degree in French, no certification, which kind of sucks since I've taken all the classes, passed the Praxis, etc... However, what I've wanted to do for a long time was to go back to Clarion and get my Masters in Library Science. I'd really like to be a high school librarian. I know library science is what I started out in over 6 years ago and it's taken me a long time to come back around to this. However, a big part of why I left Clarion was knowing that if I wanted to be a librarian, I needed a Master's Degree. Anyway, I'm really excited by this and I really feel like it's what I should be doing. And the most freaking awesome thing about it is that starting in January, Clarion will offer their School Library Media Certification Masters Program pretty much entirely online - which will be pretty darn awesome if I happen to have a kid in the next year or so. It's funny how many of my friends are librarians now. I think it's a pretty cool gig and I think it would be a great job for me. :)
