Well, I was all set up to have a yard sale this weekend (Thurs-Fri-Sat), but Tuesday I got a call from my aunt and uncle asking if I could come up to Brookville Wednesday to stay with my grandma and take her back and forth to Pittsburg where my grandpa was in the hospital. So I went up and had to leave my brother to deal with the yard sale. He's so good with stuff like that - always ready to help out even when it means getting up before 6am to set up, then staying at the yard sale all morning, then working at food lion 8 hours in the evenings.

My grandad 'blew out' his esophagus 4 weeks ago and hasn't been able to take even a sip of water since. They're feeding him through a tube of course. It's so weird because he was actually really healthy for an 82 year old before this happened, and now after being in a hospital bed for 4 weeks, he can barely stand up, and they have him on so much medication he's not too coherent. Well, they moved him to a nursing home in Brookville yesterday and they're hoping he'll be able to come home in a couple weeks. His throat is healing and the doctor said he should be able to start drinking a little water any day now. Not to get too graphic for you all, but they pulled out over a liter of undigested food from his chest cavity when he first went to the hospital. Apparently he may have had a smaller hole for a couple weeks before he knew it and all this food was just spilling out where it didn't belong.
