Callbacks!
I wasn't going to say anything, to avoid jinxing msyself, but I have to go at four o'clock and I'm too jittery to keep myself from babbling. It's reading only - I botched the singing audition, which I kind of expected, but I got a callback for one of Secret Garden's few speaking-only roles. As a freshman, I feel this is an accomplishment in itself. The cast is going to be less than thirty people, and I at least made it to round two.
Plus, they're posting the cast list tonight around seven, so my fate will be decided in a matter of hours. Today in our theatre seminar we met the set designer and he showed us the scale model for the set, and now I'm just really excited for the show, whether I end up onstage or backstage or in the audience, it's going to completely kick ass.
Tonight there's a meeting for the Student Musical Theatre club, and tomorrow there are auditions for yet another theatre group, and I put myself on the mailing list for the Shakespeare troupe, so I am somewhat confident that I will end up acting somewhere. But how cool would it be to be in the big show, in the downtown theatre? Absolutely amazing, is what it would be. We went to see a show there this weekend and they gave us a backstage tour, and wow - it's a real theatre. I want to perform on that stage.
