It has been said that I always think in terms of money. I question that individual's use of the word "always." I do tend to often think in terms of value. As "value" is a vague and ambiguous word, many times, I substitute money to provide clarity and a level conversational base.
Is money such a bad thing? Is its use as a value base so wrong? I think not.
The fact is, that some people are predisposed to make money and others are designed to be envious. Of course there is also a much smaller group made up of people who don't really care about money. The individual who made the statement about me stated in the beginning of this post is of this group who doesn't care.
I am here to make money. My purpose is to generate revenue and reduce expense. I am actually quite good at doing just this. I see nothing wrong with this. In fact, until circumstances change, I will continue to do this.
You may say that service to mankind is more important than making money. I whole heartedly agree. How, you ask, is that possible? Ask yourself, what is the definition of providing service to mankind? Is it to provide food, clothing and medicine to the sick and needy? Yes, this is one way. I do this through tithing at church. Though I much prefer to provide assistance to the majority of mankind, at least in America, by increasing the profits of my company and ensuring that it, the company, can meet payroll for its many employees and provide other benefits for stakeholders. You see, my efforts of focusing and cash generation are not exclusively personal. I understand that the more money in the coffers of my company, the more it has to payout in payroll and dividends.
So, you see I have the ability touch the lives of more people by doing what I do best than by other methods of assistance.
It is my desire to help people too, but I will go about offering my help in a much different way than most people.
