alright y'all. just wanted to check in, let you know i'm ok. i've survived the last 24 hours without seriously damaging either myself or any nearby animals, vegetables or minerals.
things are moving forward on the california front. a contractor is coming by thursday to look at nickeys moms garage to give an estimate. we're going to use our moving money/nest egg to convert it into an apartment for her and i. i'll be moving out there once the renovations are done. we'll pay nickeys mom $200 a month to chip in on utilities and live there till we're done with school. it means only having to work part-time while we're both going to school and living incredibly cheaply for LA.
shes going to come back here as soon as everythings set up with the contractor so we can be together asap. then when things are ready we'll pack up here and move together. hopefully it won't take too long. i'd like to drive straight west from here and pass over the rockies in colorado. it'd be a beautiful drive. if it gets too cold though we'll have to go the southern route, which also has its pluses...would get to see the meteor crater in az and maybe the grand canyon. i love long, scenic road trips. i've been stuck in the boring ass midwest far too long. i wanna see some damn mountains. and the ocean. can't wait to see the ocean again. for someone who loves nature as much as me i've been cut off from it for far too long. the industrialized farming wasteland of the midwest is about as unnatural as it gets. genetically modified plants in neat litle rows, covered in chemicals, as far as the eye can see. corporate hog lots whose sewage you can smell for miles around. at least in the summer its green, in the winter its just broken yellow cornstalks and bare, brown earth.
