Art and shampoo

Today we went to the MFA in Boston to see two exhibits, Goya and Jamie Wyeth. The Goya I was not so intrested in, mostly because I didnt think much of his figures.. or faces, and also because his works seemed SO DARK.. like painted with India ink black. As it turned out.. seeing the pantings in person was much different. There were a few dark ones, but even the dark ones were much brighter in person. And there were a lot of better examples of his portrature. (I have no idea if that's spelled right..LJ doesn't seem to really catch missppellings like other programs. As you can see<<<.

Anyway, after that we went to see J. Wyeth, who of course has that genetic and schooled abliity that so many of his family have. And I see why one of the people who go to the art class said that there was a heavy homoerotic overtone to his paintings. Or maybe it was repressed homomsexuality.. I forget. But either way, yeah, it's there. Still, great art. And the freaking dollhouses! lol Yeah, he made dollhouses. With figures of people he knew.

The ride in on the T was it's own adventure.. The 'conductor' or whoever was on the loudspeaker, sounded like Ben Aflek on his first day on the job. The elevator was out in one of the stations, and the guy was like. "So, the elevator isn't working at Quincy, so you should go to the next stop and take the elevator there, then take the shuttle back to Quincy.. But the escaltor is still working so if you can use that, then you're okay... " all this in a heavy Dorchester accent. It was so funny. Of course, not if you needed the elevator. Also the Green line was shut down in the direction we needed to go... and we ended up walking quite a distance but it was fun because it was a nice day and we got to see the changes in the area of Boston we used to hang out in all the time. Everything looks the same as every other place now. Pretty sad. Nothign original.

I got my first flu shot last week... I feel fine except for the soreness in my arm. I have not heard yet if the vaccine for this year is actually the one for the flu that is going around.. if it's going around.. but hey, the vaccine companies will get their dime out of my insurnace co.. so all is right with the world.

Someone on FB told me they ate at the resturant that I did the chalk board for, and they said the food was average and the service was horrible. That's not good. Esp. since its been 2 or so weeks now. They should have it down by now. I would hope. Also I read a bad service review on the FB page from someone else. So I'm not sure how long this place is going to last. Which is a dissapointment considering I have a gift certificate for the place for my work.

The shampoo... yeah, well, I have not been able to find the shampoo I like in any store for months, and have resorted to using Aussi.. which I don't really like after a number of washes.. I like the smell, but it seems to be building up.. anyway. My husband, love of my life, found my shampoo on line and got me 4 bottles, without even telling me. That my friends is true love. :)

My step father has been having issues with blood clots in his urine post knee operation. He's had to be on cumadin for his heart issues, and I guess that can cause bleeding. Yay for getting old. The good news is his knee is doing really well, and he has hardly any issues with that now.. Just the damn bleeding. Oh, and maybe polps now.. or somethign. He needs to cut this shit out so he can take care of my mom.. who thankfully is doing well, but hell, she's 10 years older than him...
