Summer is almost over.
Wow, it's nearing the end of August. Himself will be going to college in a week and 2 days and the days are getting shorter. But what a fantastic summer it has been, at least in the enjoyably aspect. It's just been so damned NICE out. Dry, yes.. but nice. I don't expect to see a summer like this for a while. Probably pay the piper 10 fold next year. But for now… NICE.
I put out a bait trap last night but nothing seems to have been touched. I put out a snap trap with peanut butter tonight. Probably I'll get a damned opossum instead. sigh.
Going to try to take the new papergirl on the route tomorrow. If not, no biggie. It's not like it's hard to figure out. I have to wash the bag for her.. it's really gross.
Did I mention my husband has gout? Yeah, a fun new development. It's in his foot. Yesterday was his second flair up. Joy.
I have to say I'm missing Quirkytizzy. (waves).
I'm putting 2 paintings in the art show and one photo. I was going to do three, but I just am NOT getting this thing done the way I want it to be. Oddly I did 2 one hour poses on Tuesday that turned out better than this thing I've put 4 hours at least into. What the hell? I'm almost at the point of scrapping it, but it's starting to turn better so I'll give it a bit more time.
I went walking with my neighbor for the second time in a few weeks. She does a fast paced 3 mile walk that's really good. And we talk the whole time and I can still keep up so I guess I'm not completely out of shape. The weight is stable but I want it down. I go up a few, down a few, but never down down. I'm hoping the walking will help.
The world seems to be turning upside down with all the different wars and crap. Leaves little time for politics I guess. That might be a good thing.
Catching up on The Walking Dead, season 3. God I get so freaked out watching scenes with the humans arguing or something and you can see the zombies in the background getting closer and closer and it's like "GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE! " LOL. The one thing I don't get is why anyone in this 'world' wouldn't always have a knife or sward or something sharp and pointy on them. Guns seem to be absurd. They run out of ammo and they make noise that attracts more zombies.. The best person on the show so far has been the ninja black woman. And why they don't all have zombie gut vests for when they go out I don't know. Sure they smell, but you know they work. And the pet zombie trick. Why not get more of them? It boggles the mind. You live in a zombie infested world, you do what you have to.
