The beeze kneeze

This evening after art class I swung by the cemetery to once again try to get rid of the paper wasp nest in the bush. Not sure if I succeeded or not.

This time I went armed with a bamboo pole. The idea was to wake the little people after spraying the area, because they have slept through the last two times at spraying , or ignored it. Poke poke run... poke run... Poke STAB!!! RUN!  I think I was able to punch a hole in the nest but I ran, and watched from the car, and saw little or no activity in the flashlight beam. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what commotion there may be. This is getting old. I dread getting a funeral near that while they are still active. ug. Reason # 36 not to have bushes next to your stone in a cemetery.

Also on a bug note, had a huge hornworm on my tomato plant. I've never had them in my garden before, they don't seem to like cherry tomatoes, but this year I got beef somethings, and boy did he like that. But alas, after I took him off the plant (with his leaf) and put him in a jar overnight, my Cuz said they get a parasite from a kind of wasp that lays their eggs on them. Lo and behold when I looked at it again today I noticed that it was indeed covered in rice like pods. And it was looking really sick. If a caterpillar can look sick. So I will not get to see him turn into the Sphinx moth (biggest bad ass moth you've ever seen), but I also won't it laying more eggs on my plants next year I guess.
