Memorial Day weekend 2013
Wet, windy and cold. That's it. It feels like mid April this weekend. The predicted beautiful sunny weekend ebbed away by Thursday, and we may see the sun on Monday. Meanwhile... the cemetery was pretty good looking when we left on Friday. There are still areas that need raking, over in the old sections.. but in general, thanks to a lack of deaths, things went well. Now with all this rain, after a dry spring, all hell will break lose, assuming we don't have snow or sleet and cold to knock the shit out of the growing things.
My garden is all in, now the only thing that is happy are the peas. Maybe I'll get a good crop of them this year.
I have seen too few bees in my garden or anywhere since the early burst I heard and saw on the flowering trees. I have left a lot of the blue 'weed' flowers in my garden this year just for them, but I see very few. The cold isn't probably helping them.
Hoping to have the gang over on Monday, and we may have to camp out in the POD. Hell if it stays this cold we'll be indoors huddled by the figging heater. Its 11 pm and 44 degrees. UG.
I started cutting into my floor this weekend. I pried up a few pieces but want to get most of it cut first before pulling the boards. Hoping to get the floor off and the new one in all at once. The fridge has to move out off the floor then back onto the new section.. which is why I want it to go quickly. PITA.
I think I'll go to bed now and start book 4 of Game of Thrones. :) (and yes, I did turn the heat on today... cripes. Next weekend it will probably be 90'. )
