Knights in white satin

wouldn't that be the KKK?

We had 4 tickets to King Dick's Faire given to us by my MIL's friend. If we had gotten more we could have had a group go, but as it was we barely made use of them. We are getting so old. We didin't really plan well, and since there were only a few more days the tickets were good, and yesterday was a sunny (but chilly) day, we decided that was the day. Then last minute we almost didn't even go, as Himself was pulling one of his "I don't know if I want to go" BS routines. So we said fine, we don't need to go, I'll give the tickets to my cousin, as she was interested. Then Himself was like "No, we'll go" Christ in a hand basket, we've hit the teen years.
So we went. Late, which was fine. It was packed. We had one extra ticked that we gave to a woman going in by herself in a nice costume. It made her day (and for $27. it should) We wondered around, got our kettle corn first off, looked at the shops and such. Himself bought a short sward for a costume for Pax. Waste of money on his part, but that runs in the family. Enjoyed looking at the many costumes. Realized what costume snobs we are these days, even though we don't dress up. There were two different Dr. Who's there, and one person dressed up from the new Assasin's Creed game all in white. Totally not medieval, but still fun. I went with the hopes of finding a leather pocketbook, and found one almost to my liking but not quite. I asked if they did custom bags but they don't. I went to their web site and found something that looks decent, but I cant really tell from the photo how it closes, and that's important to me. We got one fried dough and shared it. Other than that and a mead for Ryther, that was all the food and drink we got. I gave the leftover 5 tickets away, since you cant get  your money back. So $20.00, the gas and it was a fun day. I was sad that the foliage  wasn't better. Usually we see very dramatic colors on the way to the faire, and often we get to see the brilliant red cranberry bogs being harvested. This year the trees are just starting to turn it seems. That's very late I think for them.

Did I mention that we are having a good nut year? Not super huge amounts, but plentiful acorns. The deer are enjoying them at the cemetery.

We had a funeral Sat and were talking to the vault man about removals. I'll have to get to that next time as I am tired. I officially made 20 lbs on Friday, but boy, I seem totally stuck. Really need to get to working out more or something. I tried the bikes at the gym, but I didn't get how to control the tension on the dam things, so I was just whirring away and then suddenly I could barely pedal. Happy medium people... I would like a nice steady resistance, not Mt. Everest. I guess you get what you pay for.
