Fall is right around the corner... Whump!

I'd like to say I enjoyed the last day perhaps of 80+ degree weather, but really it was just too sticky for my liking I should have put out laundry though. Oh well, hopefully the weekend, while cooler, will be sunny.

I again have things I wanted to catch up on and post, but I'm not in any way able to think of them, so I'll wing it for as long as I can. No fiction tonight. Sorry all you fans. lol

At work... tried to get chains for the truck but the place I was referred to doesn't carry them. I have to go to somewhere farther away to get them. They are for the tires in the snow. I went to the website for the company that I was told had them, but the site SUCKS. No links to actually purchase or really see the inventory. I sent them an email but have not heard back yet.

I got the dump truck oil changed, and the machine and Cuz actually greased the entire backhoe while I did the oil. Worked out very well. Wouldn't have happened with Biv, that's for sure. She would have been covered head to toe in grease. lol

Trying to batten down the hatches for the winter. Some of the places we are mowing might be the last time for the year if the grass slows down. Still plenty to do though. Lots to get done before the snow flies.

I just finished a painting of a friend's son. I think it turned out really well. It's similar to one I did a few years ago, but I do think this on turned out a bit better color wise. It's a child with their back turned at the ocean's edge. I don't know what makes that image so wonderful. I think part of the reason is the bright colors of the bathing suits against the ocean's grayness. I will doubtless give the painting to the owners of the child when it dries, although I do want it back for next year's art shows.

And this weekend is the art show. Cooler but no hurricane, that's good.

I keep thinking I want to say something about the presidential candidates... then I just give up. Just so much BS. Gore was on NPR today talking about something he's doing, and all I wanted to know was "Have you downsized your freaking humongus house????" Saving energy is for the 'little people'. Which does bring me to the solar panel debacle. Two companies who make solar panels in the US, one in MA and one in CA have gone bankrupt, because China can do it cheaper. And US dollars invested in them lost. And again "What a shock!" Who knew the Chinese could do it cheaper? Who made out the prospectus on this one? Incredible. We are done for.

That's all for now. Must melt brain with vampire stories.
