Going to go up and see my mom and stepdad this weekend. I guess the blockages my step father has in his heart are pretty bad, and his doctor told him he couldn't have the surgery done in Concord. They also told him to basically find his own doctor to do the operation. Oh yeah, and people make fun of Canadian Meds? It's just as bad here. What doctor tells a patient to find their own surgeon, like hey, I'm sure he knows thousands of them. The doctor couldn't even recommend one??? Come on. I thought that was how they made their money anyway. Discouraging.
And on the subject of Doctors I'm back to see mine on Tues. I want to get my blood pressure tested for real, and I need to find out what the deal is with my abdomen. Again, something is NOT right, and it would be really nice to at least find out WTF it is, rather than worry about it and wonder if the BP has something to do with it or if that's all just a figment of my imagination. And since it's going to be a month before I even see the doctor for the interview about the colonoskapy, which I don't even know if I need as the issues are all over the place. So rather than wait yet another month, I figured I'd at least go in and see what the doctor thinks, maybe there are other tests I can have done to rule out or in whatever it is that's going on, before it gets worserer.
Today at work one of the Board Members stopped by. I can not stand the guy. He's a arrogant prick. He wanted to know why we hadn't had the prisoners back to do more work. I asked him what he wanted them to do, since I was going to wait till the fall to have them rake. He wouldn't tell me what he wanted them to do. He basically wants them to do everything I think. I mean, it's free labor, all we have to do is pay for their meal. Of course what he can't understand is that I don't want to give them cemetery equipment, because I don't trust convicts to use and possibly break my equipment. He jumped on me about it being 'my' equipment, that its the cemeteries. Well, actually some of it isn't the cemeteries. Over the years my father bought equipment when times were tight. Although actually right now, I think most of the new stuff is cemetery bought. Except the hand mower that I brought in to use. That's mine from my house. And yes, I do consider it mine. I treat it like it's mine. I've heard all the stories about past workers at the cemetery who beat the living shit out of the equipment. One caretaker quit because he got so sick of fixing all the broken mowers. The previous Supt. son bragged about doing wheelies on the riding mower (how he did this I do not know) and about how they would goof off all the time. I guess when this asshole board member tells me we need to run the cemetery like a business, that's what he wants it run like. Not like it's your own home and your own stuff that you actually care about. I'm so disgusted with this ass. I told my Cuz that I'd love to see him hit by a car and killed. And I totally mean it. I have no compunctions about wishing him dead. He's a piece of crap with no good use. I explained that while I may be honest about money ( if you recall the discussion about the $100.00 I wrote about earlier) but I am not a good person when it comes to dealing with shitheads. The funny thing is that this jerk never did this when my father was alive. And my father would never even listen to his ideas. He just shut him down. I on the other hand have tried to compromise with the jerk, but it's not enough for him. So like Obama trying to find common ground with the Republicans, it just seem to give him more .... whatever it is. I'm getting to the point where I think either he goes or I go. And maybe that is exactly what he wants. I have the thought that he has someone in mind for my job.
The other thing he had to get on me about was that his address was wrong on the annual report to the state. OMG!!! How horrible. "Who put that on there?" Yeah, like I put the wrong address on it for him just to be... what? Like him? Then he wanted to know why there were gaps I'm the reports. I told him honestly that until about five years ago, I never knew we had to make out the reports. The Accountant told me, and he makes out the report, I just sign it and send in the check. I don't know if that is something he's going to use to try to get the treasurers job from me? Like he would do any better? I wonder if he'd be shocked to learn that one local cemetery called us about 15 years ago asking if we filed a tax return. We told them of course we did. They never had. Now, we've had to file taxes since sometime around the 40's I think. So yeah, it's very possible that a small cemetery doesn't know all the legal ins and outs that are required by the state and feds. And there is no booklet or instruction manual to tell you all the things you need to do and file. Hell, every chemical in the building is supposed to have a safety sheet to go with it. Thats an Osha thing. You think we have all that? I'm lucky to just have the posters for all junk like maternaty leave laws and minimum wage, which cost $40.00 each thank you very much, and are probably out of date. And even with being on line with the state and the Fed, do you think we'd get some kind of notifications about anything like that? No. That would be too good a use of technology.
