Finally got a call on a burial. Not he question is, will the machine start? I have to put the charger on it tomorrow morning. I've been putting it off, waiting for the 'rainy' day I could just sit in the shop and babysit it while it charged (I'm paranoid of leaving a battery charger on) but those days have not happened. So tomorrow I need it for a dig so I have to put the charger on it and let it run. At least I don't have to pick up dingleberry in the morning, so I can have it on for at least a half and hour or more. I should see if it will start, but I turned the key and the dial is on the yellow, not the green. Not a good sign I think. Looks like batteries will be in need before winter. I've also been meaning to look up the old bill and see where we got the last set of batteries, but I, again, haven't had the rainy day to do it with no Biv.
I have to wonder if there is an avalanche of burials to come.
My sculpting teacher posted a link to a site for nude models for artists.
http://www.posespace.com/posetool/Default.aspx I think it costs some for the pose, I haven't read it all yet, but what a great resourse for someone who needs a figure. I gave the link to an 'artist' friend who does a lot of women as elves and such.
I went to make my chicken piccata last night, which came out 'okay', and when I pulled the 'cork' out, one of those fancy 'stainless' ones that came in a fancy set with the fancy bottle opener, the metal in the cork was corroded and green. Great. So much for that. Out in the trash that goes.
I talked to my crazy friend in Oregon today. She has been trying to get her home mortgage modified under the new rules that Obama put in I guess, and they have been screwing around with her, saying she didn't send in something that she did, telling her she hasn't made payments when she did, saying all was fine, they were just waiting for X and then the next moment they are telling her they will be doing the auction at the end of the month. So with three days left she somehow got in contact with her two Senators, who called the bank and personally corrected the situation. Suddenly all that was lost was found and there is a new date for the auction in two months, but that will give her time to make arrangements with the person who was finally assigned to her case (which was supposed to happen months ago). These banks took our money to keep themselves afloat after they gambled and lost on the housing market by lending money to people like my friend, but then when it comes time to sort it all out, under government order basically, they still keep screwing around? It's like every big bank needs to be in receivership. Yet the guys at the top will still get their bonuses. Nothing should be this complicated. Nothing. It's not rocket science. How much do you owe, how much can you pay, what are we willing to lose, what will the government replace. It's all numbers. It can be done. And since miracles can happen(ie paperwork found), it just means people are being lazy and rotten.
The phlox is just now finally dying down. So strange. Darkness comes earlier and earlier. Fall is here, even if its way hotter than it should be.
Well, it's off to visit with the Mad Men. Taking a break from Pillars of Earth, which we are watching also on Netflix. Cool.
