Wed. I caught a mouse in the new fangled trap. I let him out about a hundred yards away from the building. Today, the mouse was caught, and left poops to prove it, but somehow got out. He must have been a bit lighter than the other mouse, as the trap works by the mouse's weight forcing the trap down and holding the lid shut. Somehow he got out. I found the first mouse halfway back to the shop today, dead. At least I assume it was the first one. I'm going to have to tag the damn things. I don't know what killed him, or if he was just stressed out from his night in the box. Judging from the poo and pee, he was really unhappy in there. Makes me wonder if a humane snap trap is a better option. Quick death over long suffering in a box? Well, it may come to that if I cant get rid of them. I cant even leave my chips out of the fridge right now. Either that or I have to get a metal box for any food.
