I just got a call from someone at the HVHC regarding the compliant I had about the price of the heel cups. Remember those $67.00 silicon heel cups that I said I could get on line for half the price, and probably less than that for a similar item at CVS? Well, they said they looked into it, and the "reason" that the price was so high was a mark up due to delivery cost and basically the cost of just having them around. Excuse me? You buy in bulk, and because of that you probably get a huge discount, and both you and CVS have associated cost for keeping items on the shelves without selling them. What a load of BS. This isn't a heart valve for god sake. It isn't even medicine. The woman told me they had several inquiries about this, and they were looking into it. She said they had lowered the cost of the item to $20.00, which is what I should be getting a bill for.
How's that for a bit of shaking the tree? A BS charge of $67.00 reduced to $20.00.
So for my next suggestion on Health Care reform, lets get an itemized list of every single product used in health care and see what they are charging for it. And why.
money,
crime,
health care
