Life is indeed boring, when you start looking at the immediate future, and that monotony seems to drag on for the foreseeable future.
i. My plan to transfer to another camp such as Maju or Khatib has failed utterly. In the true spirit ('you can't get what you want') that has defined my NS experience, there are no shortage of clerks in fccs, unlike what other sources have told me, and I'll still be staying in Pasir Laba Camp for the future for ever.
ii. At this rate, I don't even think I have a choice of going to PTI course. Probably it's more of like I have a 99,999% chance of going to ASLC and the remaining 0,001% that I'll ORD tomorrow. IT HAS ALREADY BEEN CONFIRMED I AM 60000000% GOING ASLC KILL ME RIGHT NOW
iii. Should I be a sellout? I don't even think I have enough time to learn German during the weekends with a proper teacher and then when I go over to glorious Deutschland I'll probably die from drinking petrol thinking that it was mineral heavily-flavoured Sodawasser. I have been persuaded by many that I should just go to another ordinary anglo place and just do a normal uni place.
Firstly, I don't get need to learn Deutsch properly, and get a degree from a uni that people won't go 'huh?', and I can take a double major with econs along with civil engineering. Although I can do without the econs major (or minor, depending on whatever happens). But then again, it just seems so cool to go Deutschland/Helvetia and spend a year just learning language (which could be a waste of time) even though there would be a risk of not going uni because I fail the language requirements. Well, maybe I'll just apply to a few universities (aka Oxford + Columbia, Berkeley) and if I get rejected I'll just go germany. But then again if i'm accepted i'll just go to mcdonaldland (because I'm going to apply ED) for 4 years and become fat on high fructose corn syrup.
iv. Holiday after ORD? Joel and I planned for a holiday after ORD and unfortunately due to my profligate spending behaviour and backpay deductions I don't think that it will be feasible, but then who knows? I may just be able to go on holiday probably before term in uni/language school begins. anyway, which idea seems better?
a. transsiberian railway adventure from sankt-peterburg to moskva to ekaterinburg to irkutsk to peking to singapur.
b. eastern Mediterranean and balkan adventure from zagreb-belgrade-athenai-istanbul-izmir-antalya-dimashq-beirut-amman-al qahira-yerushalayim and back to singapur.
c. the grand tour consisting of the usual: münchen-wien-salzburg-firenze-rome-zürich-paris-montpellier-barcelona-madrid
well, both probably look like they cost like 10 times my ns allowance over the past 2 years. but whatever, I'll just leave it here anyway.
