It officially happened today. I was in my cage at memorial from 2 until a little before 7, and then I decided to take a break and get some coffee, which coincidentally is free b/c I have a gift card from starbucks. sigh. So, I walk in, and the gay barista (maybe I was just thrown off by someone being REALLY personable?) complements my jacket. "It's very 30-seconds to Mars, I like it." You know the one, Toft, the long black one that you'd always zip up all the way to the top so I wouldn't get cold on the back of the bike :) Anyhow, its a great jacket, and I usually have some quip about it... "oh, this thing, it's pretty old, I got in in Galway" etc. Today I just stood there, didn't really say anything, then mumbled something about studying too much and ordered my skinny caramel latte. Yes, I called it a large. No, he didn't correct me. I must have looked that distraught. So, lesson: grad school is making me socially inept. Great. Yet another benefit, like lack of health insurance and lack of a paycheck, it also comes with lack of ability to communicate with others.
In any case, I've migrated to the Union Rathskellar with a good view of the Bar. I have 3 more articles to read and type notes on tonight, but I intend to do it in a place where I can at least see some other people.
On a running note: legs are tired, probably from the run Friday, but also the disastrous LG/swim session yesterday and biking everywhere again. Sigh. Maybe I'll have a beer soon.
