I wish, I wish, I WISH I had my camera yesterday! As I was bringing Champ in from the field yesterday I came upon a killdeer. This is not unusual - you can't throw a rock in a pasture without beaning one of these birds, and likely catching another on the rebound. Two days ago at work I spotted a crow with an injured wing. Greg and I went to try to spook it into flight but it just hopped along the ground to escape. so we cornered and caught it to take a look. Sure enough, its wing was broken. Unsure what to do, we brought it back to my place and put it in a box with some moistened dog food and water. ( Read more... )
