So, I lost my swimming privilages today. Apparently, I'm making some progress and once that starts, they don't want me to risk a public pool. If I was rich and had my OWN pool, it would be fine. But, since this is Alberta and not Texas, pools do not come standard with condos. Sad.
Actually, I'm pretty ecstatic that we finally have a sign that Sprog might be considering becoming an outside baby. He's finally head down! He hasn't dropped yet, but I have a feeling that when he finally does labour will not be that far behind. My OB doesn't think I'll hit my due date, but I've seen way too many people wander around a little dialated for weeks to put much faith in that. I'll believe when I'm in the assessment room at the Lois Hole and they're telling me I'm being admitted. Call me a skeptic, but I don't want to get my hopes up. If the wee one decides he likes where he is far too much to make a move, they'll induce me on the 19th or 20th- a full week after my due date.
As much as I want him out, and in my arms, I keep reminding myself that it is far easier to take care of him now then it will be later! Right now, I can feel him kick and roll and do his thing, but I don't have to worry about feeding, wiping, diaper changes, umbilical stumps, vaccinations, etc. Once he comes out... well, I'll probably break this updating habit I seem to be getting into in relatively short order.
One of John's co-workers surprised the crap out of us, though. Picture this 40 something French electrician who's a political conspiracy theorist. Now put a hand printed gift bag, with a hand made card and crocheted bassinet blanket in his hands.
His wife made us a baby present! It's a gorgeous, soft round blanket that will work great with his bouncy chair. I was really touched :D
John's gone to bed, finally, so I think I will too.
