Hey, fuckin A, I'm in Africa right now. I just got back from taking a hike along the fenceline of Kruger Park with my friend Koen from the Netherlands. Tomorrow I begin my training as a bush guide, after which I will be leading game drives, working for the South African government in a community upliftment program, and helping study and protect chimpanzees in a Jane Goodall conservation sanctuary.
You've all heard this before of course, but now it's real! I found leopard tracks today! This shit is really happening... i can barely believe it...
Well, I plan on updating about my travels on a new journal Megan made for me, and I really hope you will all read and comment on it. I'm far from home, and that sort of social interaction will really mean a lot to me, so even if you don't know me all that well, I invite you to please comment, ask questions, bug me, or just say hi. It's greatly appreciated.
My new journal name (for my africa trip only) is bushveldt. Here's the link:
http://bushveldt.livejournal.com/ I'll still be reading my friends page, but I probably won't post on this journal until I get back. You all won't see me until April.
Hopefully I'll hear from all of you in the states! Until I get back, cheers from South Africa!
Love,
Max
