Holy Cr*p, it's been a while
So... 48... so far so good. Heading out for birthday lunch with Liz shortly and then possibly to the cinema if the headache quits (don't fancy two hours of 3D cinema experience with a headache no matter how much I want to see Prometheus). Impressive amount of loot recieved for birthday: several DVD box sets notably the complete Sopranos so I think my Olympics survival kit is more or less complete.
So what's been happening with me the last six months or so. Not much. Fanfics started: about 30. Fanfics finished: 0. Keep having these wonderful ideas but the actual execution of them escapes me. Have got back into actual reading in a big way. Latest discovery is Ben Aaronovitch's wonderful 'Rivers of London' series. And of course 'Snuff' (Terry Pratchett) which was just about perfect. About to embark on a rereading of Mary Gentle's Ash/1610/Ilario which should take me through the summer.
The job is going pretty well. Still enjoying it very much and seem to have come thru this financial year's round of cuts more or less intact. Healthwise, okay. Persistent anaemia which is being investigated and stil can't lose weight but I'm hopefully being put on a new diabetes drug that will help (or at least takes me off the drug that makes me put on a steady pound or so a month even if I never ate again).
Liz and I will celebrate our seventh wedding anniversary next month. Wow, that went fast.
