good stuff

nothing in particular... just, life is pretty good at the moment, you know.  It's been a while.

The new job is fantastic, the kind of work I love.  I have a manager who trusts me to get on with it and report to him when it's done or when I have something I want to run past him.  I get (gosh) feedback and encouragement.  I have some great colleagues and have made some good friends.

We can pay the bills each month.  Okay, there's not too much left afterwards but, we're doing okay.  Giving the crappy situation worldwide, that's about the best you can hope for, I think..

Liz is being really productive with her artwork at the moment and is getting stuff ready for an exhibition.  She's got into doing encaustic wax paintings at the moment and the technique really suits her style.  She had an excellent review on her work at the Artrium - no sign of a paid job yet but they have asked her if she'd be willing to do another session per week as she's so good with their clients.  We're experimenting with putting together something on line to showcase her artwork.  More on that later.

And there is some writing going on (from me - Liz is hip deep in writing fanfic for 'Mass Effect").  I'm not back to my best, but I'm getting ideas and actual pages of stuff rather than the odd paragraph.   But I think I'll be giving NaNo a miss this year.  Too much pressure.

So my mood says it all.  I'm content.  And for now, that's good enough.
