I ordered the new Collegium Chronicles book by Mercedes Lackey: Redoubt. I have no doubt it's going to be good, I enjoyed all the others.
But who is Daw hiring to write their book jacket blurbs these days? Because this one is utterly and ridiculously terrible. I have no words to explain how bad it is, but I'll try: it's like a badly written summary of the past books and the first part of this book. It's like whoever wrote it knew they needed so many words to fill up the required space, but couldn't think of any other way to do so except to summarize the previous books. Badly. And they can't write at all. Maybe they grabbed someone off the street to do it? Gave them a quick run down of the previous books and said "Here, we'll pay you 50 bucks to write this for us."
This is how terrible this is.
