Inspiration is sort of random and hits when you least want it to, in my experience. So I wouldn't give up!! Maybe it's just sort of a mental break? I know sometimes I'm dry of ideas for months and months. Also, sometime I need to be in the right setting to conceive of ideas, like with the right people, or in a comfortable place, or the right level of exhausted. (lol)
Ya I guess so, but if inspiration only hits once a year, that's pretty close to being done with drawing anyway, heh. I haven't really done any illustrations since like September of last year (unless you count those doodles I did with the fabric paint), and these were optimal conditions for fan art, but nothing happened. D:
I think I need your innate ability to turn exhaustion into art and stress into weight loss, cuz I get a lot of that and never with good results!
There were actually a bunch of years where I really didn't do any art at all beyond doodles in margins (basically my junior year of college to halfway through my master's degree) so I guess breaks can be longer? I think it was defintely my state of mind too--I was feeling more stressed out than usual during that time and my health was at an all-time low, so I dunno, maybe getting used to your new job had more effect than you'd think? I know I didn't fully realize how out of it I was in the last years of college until later. XD;;;
I'M GAINING WEIGHT. YOU'D BE PROUD OF ME LOL (all thanks to cookie dough ice cream and mrs' field cookies from costco!!)
omgggg I want to be eating buckets of ice cream and cookies! TTTTToTTTTT But nu, my energy storing system is far too stingy to be indulging like that. T_T
