just 4 books today

went to the mall today. family saw forbidden kingdom because my mom hasn't seen it yet and it's been ages since she went out. i went to do some errands - got some shoes i got fixed, paid some bills, got a pair of shorts and a skirt (no shoes, miracle of miracles), leggings, a blouse for mom, and of course, some books.

about a boy - Nick Horby - because i should read nick horby. i haven't even read high fidelity!
lord of the flies - William Golding - because i should have read this already and it was 25PHP in booksale!!!
the celestine prophecy - James Redfield - because my bb daddy said so.
oil, power & empire - Larry Everest - because anything with oil, power and empire with a picture of US President Bush is an automatic win. hahaha.

omg, see the diversity? contemporary, classic, critical and new age! i am the coolest.

i was thinking of purchasing under the tuscan sun because i saw the movie like 3-4 years ago, i think and i liked it but it was waayy to chick flick-ish for me but apparently the book is wayy different. i also had to drop gore vidal's the judgment of paris because i was already poor and because i have a feeling i only like him because he writes subversive political essays, is al gore's cousin and is in (self-imposed?) exile in italy. oh and he endorsed dennis kucinich for the democratic nomination. hehe.

on average i think i purchase around 10 to 15 books in a month. which is crappy since i read with the speed of a 2nd grader. i am running out of shelf space. boo.

*sigh* i love reading. too bad it's killing my eyes.

i do not know who i will be hanging out with. but i am drinking like there's no tomorrow tomorrow.
