because i am masa i went to see the new SM in what used to be the San Lazaro Hippodrome. as i approached the area, the hordes of masa came from every area possible. it was abit claustrophobic actually. a few more steps and i started missing the hippodrome even more. i have pleasant memories of that hippodrome - from my classmate's condo unit we ( Read more... )

am one of those people enticed by this whole "not your typical pinoy movie"...i don't watch pinoy movies kasi...maybe this one if given the chance...pero wala sa eastwood eh...

up to now, i stll can't believe atienza opted to demolish instead of restoring the jai alai building. looking beyong the building's dilapidated state, it was pure art deco arch-gasm. i haven't heard of that plan to restore the metropolitan theater but if he's serious about it, every arch-lover in this country ought to be more frightened than happy.

judging by his actions, i think we can all assume that mayor atienza has bad-bordering-on-atrocious taste in architecture. manila park and ride, anyone?

i know, i used to pass by the jai alai bldg when i had summer classes in upm. i felt really bad when they destroyed it. whatever bldg was supposed to be erected there is still in the world of ideas.
