Bringing home The Muic of the Night

Work's been hell this week but not from the workload itself, but from the planning of the outing (it made me cry, seriously). Niweiz, I'll delve into that some other time, now I have something to get my mind off that baka no bakansu.

Last Friday, while I was waiting for my officemates to finish so we can have karaoke night, I found out that the 25th anniversary of the Phantom of the Opera is already out in the country. And immediately I wanted to get my paws on it. But I only got it on Sunday.

Here's the box. Yes, I bought the dvd box even if I have to live like a beggar until the next two paydays (damn my credit card bills)hahahahhahaha

and the contents.. love love love..

Last October, while on request to hunt for the 25 php movie schedule, I came across the schedule for the 25th anniv performance scheduled at the local cinema and I immediately announced it to my friends just in case some of them will be interested in watching. Well, as expected they ignored it. I texted my friend and she agreed to come. Well, we watched the performance and loved it and I told myself that I will get the dvd once it's out.

I first watched Phantom in college when our Humanities prof let us watch the 1004 movie and I fell in love with it and the songs nd thought that it was a great thing, but years later, when I watched the 25th anniv performance, it was even better than the movie. The colorful costume, the set, the people, it as really out of this world!

I really like Ramin as the phantom, his voice is just so solid ad powerful. Sierra as Christine is awesome as well, and of course very pretty! Hadley did well as Raoul and the iteractions between him ad the Phantom is really rival-like (well the movie didn't show the rivalry much imo), well, I've been hating Raoul since the movie but in the 25th anniv  I didn't hate the character much. And when Sarah Brightman started singing at the end, omg I had goosebumps! Such powerful voice and her vocal range is really amazing! Angel of Music indeed! When the Phantoms joined in (Chibi loves Anthony Warlow's voice and I go for John Owen-Jones, But we both agree that Peter Joback is a cutie!) the feeling was utterly unexplainable, and even at the cinema I have the chills at their performance, I wonder how the audience inside the Albert Hall felt! It was such an amazing experience!  And ow that I have the dvd, I always watch it and enjoy the music...

Love Never Dies

I've been curious about the sequel that's why I boutgh the box set, and truly, I love it!!!! The costume, make up and visuals are great!!!! The set change too!!! Personally I like the voice of the girl who played Meg, though sometimes she falters, she has such a cute voice. Anna as Christine is dashing! Ine very costume she looks "regal as a queen" as Meg puts it. In terms of vocals, I don't know but I feel Anna has a thicker, more opera-like voice than Sierra, though I think I prefer Sierra's voice because there times when I can't quite comprehend what Anna was singing. Ben is good with his portrayal (esp when he and Gustave were singing) but I have to say that I still love Ramin as the phantom.

Lovely experience really, these two musicals, so magical and the songs are lovely (thanks to Andrew and the lyricists for making such good pieces). I wish that one day I ca go ad see act like this!
