A Poem for TAKS
Wrote this today during the administration of our TAKS Reading test. It's rather artless, but then again, so is the TAKS. Thought y'all might enjoy it!
Pacing,
not like a tiger
in a garden
but a teacher
in a TAKS test
impatient and powerless
against the overwhelming crush
of Bloom's
(that's Bloom's Taxonomy. Teacher-ese has crept into daily language)
Good luck to all the 8th graders out there who still have Science and Social Studies to go. For us in the 7th, we are done!!!
And... my students were awesome.
