Dexcon was very wonderful, and I'll post a full 'blahblah, this is what is was like from my POV' in a while. But first, I must do a happy dance and post about the most amazing part.
Kielle was there!
(For those of my friends reading this who don't know who she is, she's a fanfic _goddess_, the Lady Scribe, she runs CFAN (www.subreality.com) and I've been her ever so devoted groupie forever!)
I got wind that a 'Mystery Guest' was coming but no one would tell me who it was. I guessed Kielle right away and even started doing the hyper-happy Kielle dance in Rossi's direction but she (sneaky Aussie that she is) said that it wasn't Kielle.
Now, keep in mind that Dexcon was full of people I'd never met before and most of whom I hadn't seen pictures of. I'm pretty recognizable with my flaming orange hair, so people were always coming up and saying 'Hey, Cel!' while I wondered who exactly they were.
So, on Saturday, when someone came and sat next to me and said hi, I sort of wondered 'who's that?'. Then I looked, trying to figure it out. I looked again, thinking 'naaaaaaaaah'. I looked again and almost jumped out of my skin.
There was a Kielle sitting _right across_ from me, exactly as though she was an ordinary mortal!
Kielle was most very wow. Don't ever let her tell you that she is not interesting etc. in person. It's a lie. She was awesome! And she has very pretty and much braidable hair.
Kielle actually bought me the first ever Reality Romani Green! *snickers* I just went up to the bar at the B&B and ordered it as though it was a real drink and acted very confused about it when they had to ask what it was. Hee!
I think I probably spent more time with Kelly than anyone there (probably because I attached myself to her side and thoroughly refused to be shaken off -- the poor woman!). She is most _definately_ one of the coolest people I've ever met.
I was actually supposed to take her to the airport the last day, but we went down to the garage, couldn't find my car and figured it had been towed.
I found out, twenty minutes later, that we had just been looking in the wrong place. *facefault* I rushed to the airport to try and see her off, so she wouldn't worry about me and also so I could see her one more time : ) but the mean customs people wouldn't let me in.
Anyway, to sum up,-- Kielle wow.
P.S. If you ever need to bribe a Kielle, try chocolate martinis!
