Just a funny story about my best friend...

Okay, I'm walking to work with my best gal Ana this morning and she relates this story. It seemed so reminiscent of Darq and her kitty stories that I had to share.

Ana's boyfriend, let's just call him Pierre, is very into Nietzsche, and, most especially 'Thus Spake Zarthustra". Now, Ana decided to read it, but, she decided to do this without his knowledge, for the simple fact that if she hated it, she (being very honest, direct and well...Ana), would be forced to tell him and make him frown mightily at her. Therefore, she took to reading it whenever he stepped outside for a smoke.

She was reading it yesterday, propped on her knees while in bed, when Pierre (who had come in the house so quietly she had not heard) opened the bedroom door. Startled, she sat up, pushed her knees down and shoved the book under the pillow. After engaging in such obviously guilty behavior, Pierre asked her what she was hiding. Of course, being guilty, she gave the standard guilty answer.

"Nothing."

Naturally, Pierre, not being a moron, knew that it was something other than nothing and proceded to look for what was under the pillow, but was thwarted, Ana having secreted it under her back by this time.

Pierre, now alarmed, assumed the worst. Yes, that's right. He was absolutely certain that she was hiding a *ahem* shall we say, a 'boyfriend substitute'? Precisely. She denied it, of course, but, her previous deception caused him not to believe her now true statement.

Thus ensued a tickling match, wherein the book was shoved under the bed. Pierre leaned down to look under the bed and discover, at last, the 'little friend' she had been hiding.

"What the hell?" he asked, startled. "It isn't under here. There are only a few boxes and a boo....what's....is this Zarthustra?"

At which point my Ana burst into tears and ran into the bathroom, until she could, as she puts it "deal with it like a real person", or something like that.

Is there any question as to why I love this woman? Discovered in the shocking persuit of philosophy. Eeeexcellent.
